WORK IN PROGRESS ndo2fs originated as a debugger for ndomod.o. It takes data from ndomod.o either via a TCP or a UNIX socket. The aim of ndo2fs is to save the nagios data in a structured way using the file system. We kept in mind that the data has to be processed in an easy way.

WORK IN PROGRESS ndo2fs ist als Debugger für ndomod.o entstanden und nimmt die Daten von ndomod.o entweder über TCP- oder UNIX-Sockets entgegen. Ziel von ndo2fs ist es, die Nagios Daten strukturiert im Filesystem abzulegen. Dabei wurde darauf geachtet, dass die Daten mit einfachen Mitteln zu verarbeiten sind.

If everything went well until now you can try to call PNP using your web browser. On the assumption nagios can be reached using the URL /nagios PNP should be called using /nagios/pnp/index.php. Called without any arguments PNP looks for RRD and XML files in share/perfdata and shows all graphs of the first host.

PNP uses templates to influence the appearance of RRD graphs. The selected check_command determines which template will be used to control the graph. Following will be described where templates are stored and how the decision for the “right” template is made.

“pages” provide the opportunity to collect graphs of different hosts/services on one page. That way - as an example - you can display the traffic rates of all tape libraries. Regular expressions are possible so you can accomplish a lot with only few definitions - provided that you have appropriate names. The directory specified using “$conf['page_dir']” contains one or more file with the extension ”.cfg”.

Wie bereits unter ”Was sind Templates ?” beschrieben, ist die Darstellung der Graphen abhängig vom verwendeten Check-Command. Es gibt jedoch Situationen, in denen dieses Verhalten übersteuert werden muss. CUSTOM_TEMPLATE Notwendig wird dies, wenn allgemeingültige Commands definiert wurden.
